Support for All Ages

I thoroughly enjoy and specialize in counseling children, adolescents and young adults. I have worked with individuals in these age categories since I was 18 years old in a wide array of settings, from youth groups, the YMCA, Crisis Homes, Group Homes, Summer Camps, as well as counseling in private practice. Throughout my time working with this population I have helped individuals and families deal with depression, anxiety, social anxiety, lack of motivation, self-esteem, ADHD, managing life transitions, etc.

This image represents a huge piece of who I am.  Not that cell phones are bad, but that being present with the people and world around you is vital to thriving mental health.  I strive for everyone around me to be both known and loved as they are.

I am currently working as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (#128272) in private practice. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego Christian College (SDCC) in 2006 and with my Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix in 2014. I have most recently worked as an MFT Intern in the current space in which I now operate as an LMFT. Prior to this I worked at Crestwood Behavioral Health, working in an inpatient setting, with adults with acute psychiatric disorders. Before being employed at Crestwood, I worked from 2006-2015 at Halcyon, which is a crisis home for adults with both acute psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. Prior to this I worked with children of varying ages in a variety of different settings, ranging from YMCA after school care, and day camp counselor to being camp counselor at Indian Hills Christian Camp and working with adolescents, with both Mi Casa and New Alternatives Groups Homes. While working at Halcyon, I counseled children and parents at a faith-based organization known as The East County Transitional Living Center (ECTLC) in El Cajon. I come from a family values perspective, meaning that I help families and individuals to experience better outcomes in their relationships. My personal orientation is from a Christian perspective. I believe that the values we carry with us through life determine much of the outcome we experience in our daily lives, particularly in our relationships. My hope is that the information contained here will help you to make an informed decision in choosing a therapist.
